Eastern Europe 2015 Day 6 Prague [[ Leo Express + Bredovsky Dvur + Main Square + Old Town + Charles Bridge]]

Every morning despite waking up at unearthly early hours, we were more than often frightened by how bright the skies are. Afraid that we overslept and missed our bus/train rides especially when we are bound to leave for another city.

This morning was no exception. The skies at 5am were as bright as the 9am skies in Singapore. We were bound for Prague via Leo Express.

Leo Express provides inter-city travel service via bus and train to Prague at very affordable prices! We paid only €20.50 per pax for our journey from Krakow to Prague.

Our journey started with taking a bus to Bohumin station where our journey continues via train to Hlavni, Prague station. Both bus and train ride were good! On top of comfy seats on the bus, complimentary tea cakes and bottled drinks were provided to all! Only down side was the train got delayed for 20 minutes and we were stranded at the station which has no facilities.

In all honesty, I think Leo Express offers a superb value-for-money travel option for all free and easy travelers! Highly recommended!

We reached Prague early evening and headed to our b&b via the tram. The tram was so puny, we had so much difficulty getting our luggage on it. The tram driver was not being helpful either. Our first try to get the luggage on ended disastrously with our luggage getting clamped by the door which the unkind driver decided to just close without any warning. Poor Mr Kwek had to quickly pull the luggage back and down on the ground as the tram moved off.

Second try saw us being kiasu people rushing to get on the tram first instead of being the last. We managed to get to our b&b which was located outside town, in a small and quiet neighbourhood. We took a quick shower and head out to feed our growling stomach in no time despite feeling a tad tired.

Prague was seriously, love at first sight. Not until meeting shockingly rude service staffs. Not all, but enough to be a turn off, considering Prague is so touristy.

Still, great great love for the beautiful city's architectures! Food wise, we had a not too bad start at Bredovsky Dvur.

Bredovsky Dvur is a good old vaulted beer restuarant serving traditional Prague Cruisines. With a lay-back bricked wall atmosphere, Bredovsky Dvur is a popular hang out for the local. We tried the all time popular traditional beef sirloin with bread dumpling and deer meat with potato dumpling. Not forgetting some beer to ease the heat! Food was great! Tasted fusion and pretty Chinese! Suited the Mister's taste bud! :)

After our meal, we headed for the main square, old town. The main square was majestically surrounded by historical architectures! Riched in details, each building seem to be telling a story of their own.

Nearing the old town, it got more crowded and touristy. We passed by a old bohemian bread cart and decided to purchase a piece to try despite feeling full.

Wrong decision!

Not that the bread is not nice but the full sugar coated surface was attracting much unwanted bees' attention!!! We had so much difficulty trying to shoo the bees away while attempting to finish the bread soonest possible, amidst the crowd!

Following the crowd through a small alley, we arrived into the old town and was greeted by the famous clock tower. As we were having our photoshoot around Charles Bridge area the next morning, this evening trip was to have a preview of how Charles Bridge look like.

We headed straight to Charles Bridge and was greeted by a full crowded bridge!!!!
The bridge was amazingly crowded! No one corner was empty. It is no wonder our photographer had suggested an earthly hour of 7am for our shooting.

The stroll through the majestic Charles Bridge was pretty long and romantic, minus the crowd. The end of the bridge leads to the other side of the old town, which was basking with party goers and street artists!

We left the lively town at around 9pm and make our way back to our b&b via tram. Another fact to share about Prague tram: the tram number changes as it enters and exits the town. We missed a couple of tram because of this unfamiliar system. We ended up at the wrong tram stop thinking that all trams ran on a loop system. Each time we sees our tram number from afar, we lined up for the tram and only to be greeted with a different number.

We initially thought that our eyes were playing tricks on us and only realized the truth when I happen to turn and see a different number changing to ours at the opposite tram stop!

So do take note of the tram and its stop! We took longer than expected to head back to our b&b and was dead tired by then. Next entry will find us exploring more of Prague's old town! Do stay tune~ :)
